The interview was conducted in our mother language (YORUBA)

 Good morning sir.
 Good morning sir.

 May we know your name?
 I'm Segun Amos.

 May we know your profession?
I'm into Rewiring. I also charge batteries for car owners.

For how long have you been in this profession?
I've been in this profession for fifteen years

What led you to this work Mr Segun?
.When I was in school, after closing, I used to sit with a Rewire and observe his work. My parents noticed my interest in the work and advised me to go into it. I will like to encourage my viewers to have an handiwork. We should not limit ourselves in our endeavor. I thank God for restoring my hope in Him. I'm
Advising disabled people like me not to give up but to continue moving forward.

Did your parents force you to learn this profession?
I wasn't forced by my parents to learn this trade.

How has it been so far?
I thank God. He has been faithful.

You said some touching things earlier. You said you were not like this when you started this profession.  Please, explain better.
I was involved in an accident while returning from a journey.  I was amputated as result of the accident. I determined I won't beg for alms. I decided to go into my profession.  I'm now used to my disability.  When I work with my one hand,  it's as if I'm working with both my
Hands.

After the accident, what was your emotional strength?  Did u feel discouraged at all?
I felt discouraged.  I was so sad and lonely cos I was forsaken by my wife and family. I decided to go back to my work. God has been faithful since I made that decision. My children are comfortable and the family members who left me are back.

How many children do you have sir?
 I have four children

What motivated you to go back to your handiwork
I was encouraged by my parents. I listened and my life has been wonderful

Did the accident affect your profession in any way as regard customers turn out to your workshop?
My customers have greatly increased. More customers come to my workshop now to patronize me. All d cars you are seeing here are for my clients.  I'm usually time
Conscious and I don't disappoint my clients. This has been helpful.

Are you educated?
Yes, I am.  I have an ssce certificate

When you wake up in morning what do you usually think about first?
I do have daily devotions with my children. I had a house and a car before d accident but now, when I think about this, I usually conclude these things are temporal. I do tell God He is d only one I have and He has never forsaken me.

What is your advice for disabled people who are thinking of begging for alms?
people like this do not know God and they have given up completely. No matter the challenge one is facing, God is still alive. we the disabled now do things the so called able persons can't do. I don't see myself as a disabled person. I do everything my colleagues also do.  My colleagues are always proud of me.  My advice to the disabled is that they should not limit themselves.  They should learn a trade and
not use their weakness as an excuse. They will soon get used to the trade and their weakness will become strength. God doesn't support receiving alms from people when you have an alternative to work.  *I would rather die than beg for alms.*

Is the state of the economy affecting your trade?
God doesn't forsake his people He has been helping us.

What are the things that motivate you?
so many things motivate me.  Whenever I'm down I always remember God is with me .

What advice do you have for the government?
I wanted to buy a detective machine when I was involved in an accident. The price of the machine then was #500000. I already had #200000 in a micro finance bank. I needed to withdraw the money to pay my hospital. My house, car and machine were sold to pay my hospital bills. I need financial help from the government and private individuals. I still need to buy the detective machine.. I don't want my children to suffer and that is why I've not b
able to afford it. my children attend a very good school

May we know your name once again

Where are you from

What’s your age sir?
Thirty five years old

in conclusion pls advice the youths briefly,  especially the unemployed
