ONE FRAME:- featuring the Documentary of MAMA HID AWOLOWO Episode 2..........Host :- OLAWOYIN SMILE

You are all welcome to another edition of ONE FRAME....... I hope you enjoyed the previous edition... I have been running a Documentary series about Mama HID Awolowo
                                       



 since last week. I will be concluding Documentary series today by giving you details of her burial
Mama HID Awolowo who died on September 19, 2015, began her final journey home with a lying-in-state at her Lagos , Ibadan and Ikenne residences on Sunday , Monday and Tuesday respectively.




As scheduled, the remains of HID Awolowo was committed to mother earth on November 25,





the day she would have been 100 years on earth. The late matriarch died at her residence in Ikenne, Ogun State after she reportedly presided over the family meeting on her proposed centenary birthday party.




Since her death, the Ikene residence of the matriarch became a Mecca of sorts with people, groups, men and women from all shades of life trooping in to register their condolences.




The late matriarch was  buried on Wednesday, November 25 in a white damask cloth she bought and kept for the purpose 36 years ago.


The government of Ogun State had received the body at the Sagamu-Interchange from Ibadan


where she was honoured and held a brief lying-in-state for her before she was taken to Ikenne





.
The state government also added glamour to the final journey of the late matriarch of Awolowo as it hosted the Presidency, 





all the 35 governors across the country and Religion leaders





Mama Awolowo was a solid rock and courageous woman who in spite of the travails of life fought a good fight of faith till death, pointing out that she had laid enviable foundations for all to follow.  




She set good examples for us all to follow and laid solid foundations for even unborn generations.


She lived a very purposeful life. She was very energetic and business conscious.

 in a gold casket brought in from the United States of America inside the 


Awolowo mausoleum in the family compound in Okenne, Ogun State.
